Together

Please excuse the lack of posting this week.. The Lanes (ALL OF US) are at the beach together. 
We arrived to a national weather disaster...14'' of rain in two days. We were all thinking the same thing: this house is going to get really small, really fast if the sun doesn't make an appearance soon! 


Thankfully, by midmorning yesterday, the sun pushed away enough clouds and we couldn't get our toes in the sand quick enough. That is where you will find us the rest of the week- Together, on the beach.

Morning Rituals

Confession: I have a few (super) favorite blogs. Waterfall Creative is one of them. This week Joanna had a really cute Morning Rituals post and this is my answer to her 'whats  your morning ritual'?!

First things first. I am a big fan of the snooze button. I have it labeled as 'rise and shine' but I will hit it at least 3 times. Once I get up, I am a total morning person- ready to take on the day. While most mornings I head to yoga before starting my work day- I always start with a shake before leaving the house. 

Once 


I'm back at the house- its straight to the coffee or tea pot. (Nespresso vs. Kombucha) Then I sit down at the computer. Work emails, personal blog, work blog and so on...
Having time in the mornings to meditate and enjoy my yoga practice is a huge blessing- I love staring my days off that way!

The Calm

Today we celebrated the wonderful news that my sisters boyfriend accepted a new job! 

Mid week is the perfect time to enjoy the lake- we toasted to the new job, enjoyed lunch and took advantage of the clam waters to wake-board. 

Just as we were packing up, the storm was rolling in... the marina looks so calm. Bring on the rain- we need it!

Orchids

Who would have known- Mama Lane is the 'Orchid Whisperer'?! All of the orchids below live in her bathroom and love their life. Can you tell?Some of them my sister and I gave her a few years back, others were gifted to me/my sister we killed them.. or so we thought.. and they came back to life under Mama Lane's care!
