BIRTHDAY RECAP

its hard to believe that my birthday has already come and gone. why is it that days we look forward to for so long pass by so quickly?
my golden birthday was this past weekend and it was blast! full of love, loved ones, laughter and memories made!

i enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and breakfast with my mom and sister before picking up sp from the airport later in the morning. he flew in town for a long weekend of birthday celebrations !!
we headed straight to brunch with some dear friends!
from there, sp and i decided to enjoy the beautiful weather dallas was offering that day and took a good long walk around the arboretum - it was so beautiful, countless pumpkins everywhere!
momma lane hosted the most fabulous dinner party for my 'golden birthday'!
all i asked for was family style italian dinner and champagne with my favorite people- and of course she went above and beyond! from decorations, a true italian feast and family and friends with new memories that will go down in the birthday history books!!

after a fun filled weekend with family and friends, sp took me out on a birthday/anniversary date at what might be my new favorite restaurant in dallas - savor.
with the park all light up for the holidays, it was so beautiful!
the staff, the food and even the deserts were outstanding- its a must if you are in dallas any time soon.
we capped off the weekend with a glass of bubbles, of course, at lark in the park.
cheers to a really fun birthday with loved ones and lots of laughter!!

black friday sales are everywhere today, but i am so excited to spend my birthday with family and friends and all things golden (i'm thinking gold decorations at dinner are appropriate!?)

hope you all had a very blessed thanksgiving holiday!
happy black friday shopping to you if you are braving the madness, unless you are sitting at your computer with your coffee in hand enjoying 50% most everything just a click away - you smart shopped you!

GAME DAY

it's game day recap on the blog today along with photo overload!
the whole family braved the weather and we all drove up to stillwater, ok for the biggest game in the big 12 this year - baylor vs. osu.
it was a family and house divided some were osu grads, some baylor grads. we all played well together but it was a battle for sure! (its a good thing we all know how to tailgate long enough leading up to the game!)  it was so so so cold on saturday, we bundled up and warmed up with a few hottie toddies before the game - but between the wind and the sad baylor loss it was hard to keep warm.

it was so fun to have the whole family together for the weekend to enjoy some football, friendly competition and sp and my family got to meet! what better way to meet than at a tailgate and drinks in hand.... it's how we do things in our families i guess;)
here is what i bundled up in!
jacket: tommy hilfier. similar to this north face  headband: target
jeans: citizens of humanity   scarf: zara
boots: napapijri (a few years ago) here is a current pair and a sorels pair!

OH THE WEEKEND

this weekend went by way too fast. as always.
i tried to capture as many memories on 'film' as possible, but there were still not enough!

i got to have this little cutie has my weekend buddy- miss stella!
stella, your little personality made me smile all weekend long! you are welcome back any time:)
saturday my sister and her fiancĂ© were in a wedding, so my mom was my date, and i was hers- it was a blast - we snapped this picture together just after the ceremony and before dancing the night away on the dance floor of the dallas country club! oh, what a night!
mark + james dress. similar here and here.
my sister, mom, sisters fiancĂ© and me - can you tell we had a good time?!

now, i normally stay far away from the bouquet toss. however, i didn't know many people at this particular wedding, so i thought it would be a good idea to elbow my way in for a dramatic effect action shot.  that part happened.  the part of catching the bouquet went to the lovely lady in front of me! she put up a good, fair fight;)
oh sundays- you are so good.
especially when the weather in dallas feels like california weather- even if just for a few short hours- it made for the perfect brunch and catch up session with my bestie!
if you haven't tried boulevardier in oak cliff yet, you need to add it to your 'must visits' asap.
it was amazing!

oh, and incase you missed last weeks 3-part series of some amazing #BloggingBeauties

FOOTHILLS TO FOG BLOG// WELCOME READERS!!

hello lovlie readers!!
and a special welcome to you who have stopped by after reading my guest post over on  f r o m   f o o t h i l l s  t o   f o g   b l o g !!  so glad you have stopped by here today- stay a while:)
so honored the pretty little theresa asked me to guest post for her today while she is soaking in the sun and sipping cocktails on the beach in cabo (holding back the envy over here!!)

i noticed some of the pictures did not load on the guest post today.. so i thought i would share the post and make sure you can see all the pictures here!

I thought I would introduce myself to you (Theresa's sweet readers) and give you a little (250 word) story of my life today:

I was born in Dallas, Texas, almost a Thanksgiving Baby, but I decided to cook a little longer! When I was almost 7 my mom remarried and we transplanted our family to Germany for the next 13 years of my life. My sister and I grew up going to German schools, but our parents were sure we never forgot our Texas roots or accent! My first two years of college were spent in Barcelona, Spain… it didn’t take me long to realize that was not where I wanted to spend my 20's or finish my education. So as a junior I transferred to Baylor University- where I graduated on time and with a handful of friends I will have for life. Fast-forward a few years: I'm living in Dallas again, surrounded by family and close friends, and I am blessed with my dream job of working for a non-profit from my home office. I am a certified yoga instructor, you can find me on my yoga mat almost every day- I love a good sweaty vinyasa flow. And last but not least there is a handsome cowboy that I like to call my boyfriend who works and lives on a working cattle ranch in Oklahoma.

And because words only say so much...
Here are a few pictures to go along with the story told above:
My immediate family- sister, mamma, and me - love 'em to pieces!
These are my bestest of friends the night before the lucky lady in the middle tied the knot!
This picture was taken the day I finished my yoga teacher training..I love it simply because it will forever be a favorite memory and plus this pose is called 'wild thing'!
Me and my handsome cowboy- enjoying a few cold ones after a home game win last year!

thank you so so much for stoping by my blog today!
please leave a comment, introduce yourself and let me know about you and your blog- would love to connect and meet new blogging friends like you:)

HERES TO YOU

last weekend was a though one. if you follow me on instagram you might have seen the first picture in this post already. my aunt d'aun was an  amazing mother, wife, incredible cowgirl and true lover of the Lord. and two fridays ago she went to be with Him.
while very hard to swallow and process it all, it was not out of the blue. d'aun had been fighting the evil (cancer) in her body for more than 15 months.
but she had set her goals: make it to her oldest sons high school graduation, watch both boys take reserve champions at the nm high school roping association and finally watching them both compete in the national high school roping finals in wyoming!! (my cousins are cool like that!!)

your spirit, love for life, love for your family and friends, but most of all for the Lord was contagious! we will miss you dearly and keep you in our hearts forever!

we made the drive out to nm to be with the ones we love most and hold them just a little tighter and longer for the weekend. while there we took a little backroad tour (with a full cooler!!) of the ranch they live on and run to enjoy the same things she would have enjoyed with us!!
- here's to you d'aun!! -

they ranch has so much history and plenty to see. so one of our first stops was to see the markings left by indians years and years ago. see if you can spot the pictures left in stone!

there is an animal with antlers on the rock wall here.. can you find the markings?!
now look closer... do you see the animal?! i looks like a deer- antlers and all!
now look for the faces... can you find them?
look closer... they are marked in the dark black rock!
this whole is one of many 'indian wells' (conical holes)

FAMILY VACATION... CAPTURED!

last week i promised to get these family pictures posted.. but the holiday weekend took over and too much fun was being had to blog! hope you all had a blast celebrating our great country too!!

there are so many lane ladies... and while people tell us all the time we look alike, it takes pictures like these for us to see how much we really do look like lanes! there's a seriously strong gene pool here!
we don't stop and take family pictures as much as we should, so these are all very special and will be cherished for years to come!
