THE JOSHUA CODE | WEEK 13

We are on week 13 of the JOSHUA CODE - but if you want to catch up on the first few verses you can do so by going back a few weeks in the blog and looking for the same image as above!
take it one verse at a time, or feel free to just pick it up with us this week!

Here is last weeks and this weeks verses:

w e e k -  t h i r t e e n

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who was begun a good work in you
will complete you until that day of Jesus Christ."

p h i l i p p i a n s  1 :  6

. . .
UNDERSTANDING OUR SALVATION
THE ORIGIN OF OUR SALVATION  : 'He who has begun a good work in you'
THE OUTCOME OF SALVATION : '[He] will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ'

"....We are living now in the great 'until'. Until ... the day of Jesus Christ.
Until then, we can trust Him and know we are secure in the now life and in the next life that is to come"
. . .

'As you memorize this verse this week, medidate on the fact that your salvation is, from first to last, all the doing of HIM who loves your and gave Himself for you. Since HE is that origin of it all, you can trust HIM with the outcome of it all.'
(The Joshua Code, pg. 79).

>> I really love these words from philippians 1:6 this week. reminding ourselves that HE has our 'plan' worked out, in HIS hands, and HIS perfect timing is something we need to constantly hear and reread. not just read, but believe it whole-hartetly- its so refreshing and comforting at the same time. Finding peace and assurance in HIS plan for me give me great joy and a full heart every morning!! <<

'The Joshua Code  is a challenge to keep God's Word in our mouths through memorization and to keep it in our hearts through meditation "day and night"'.
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,  that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success"
 j o s h u a  1 : 8

I pray that you continue to come back to the blog for the weekly verses as we learn and memorize scripture verses together and grow in faith and love together!

A RANCH PICNIC

there are so many wonderful places around the ranch - its hard to pick a favorite. but today i am sharing our favorite picnic spot with you.
on monday i went along with sp to feed a few pastures of cattle, and since it was going to be a few hours and it wasn't close to the house, i said i would go and open gates, and help count, if at the end we could stop for a picnic, take the four-wheeler out and make an afternoon of it.

so thats just what we did!
we loaded up the trailer with the four-wheeler, packed a picnic and went on a forest adventure after sp was done working for the day.
this  might be the biggest oak tree i ever did see!
the gentleman who used to own this property made a picnic spot under this very tree! it used to have a few benches just next to the perfect swimming hole - tree swing and all.
if you look closely, you can see the tree swing hanging on the right branch.
the branch has since died, and the picnic spot is not in the form it used to be in, but theres still something calming and serene about this spot.
my handsome lunch date :)
we packed a simple lunch, sandwiches, chips and homemade brownies sp's mom sent us home with after sunday supper the night before! and of course an ice-cold dr. pepper!
there are not many signs of spring around the ranch just yet... its still quit chilly during the days and has dropped below freezing a few nights a week this march. but we found the first signs of spring when we spotted these pretty purple blooms trying to prove that spring is just around the corner!

these next two pictures make me laugh so hard every time i look at them!!!
like i mentioned, we went on a 4-wheeler adventure in the forest after lunch and here is some of our findings....
here is what i found!!
and here is what sp found!!!
i love afternoon adventures like these with my love.
no cell phones (mainly because there is no reception!!), quality time, and a little quiet time with the Lord when you get to be submerged in this amazing thing called nature, in its raw, beautiful and untouched state with not another soul around for miles!

oh, and of course there was a little nature-yoga :)
here is me (all bundled up) holding a crow-pose on a big rock in the middle of the creek!!

SUNDAY FUNDAY

this past sunday sp and I took the afternoon to enjoy the outdoors and nurture our love-language 'quality time'. no cell phones, no watches, just the sounds of nature, crisp spring air and outdoor adventures together.
first stop was this huge tree that had fallen over a dry creek bed- ofcourse it called for some yoga poses!
sp, who has never done yoga, is mastering a dancers pose like a pro:)

i love a good shadow picture--- however when your bundled up like 'michelin-men' because its not quite spring at the ranch.. the shadow pictures look more like marshmallow pictures ;)
i stopped to take this pictures, because i thought it looks like a giant wishbone!
and this sweet readers, is a true #SundaySelfie.
raw
no make up
unruly hair
but cheese-balls for days!
your welcome.
(or more like, i'm sorry!!!)
when you wear bog boots tall enough to tread through water, you tread through water.
boys like to see just how far they can go before it hits the top of their boots.. sp likes doing the same!
its even more fun, when the water is so clear, you forget your even in water and looking for pretty rocks and creek mussels!

if your following me on instagram, you saw the winning picture from #sundayFunday!!

Here is last weeks and this weeks verses:

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful,
who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

1  c o r i n t h i a n s  1 0 :  1 3

. . .
THE REALITY OF TEMPTATION : 'no temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man'
THE REMINDER OF TEMPTATION : 'but God is faithful'
THE REMEDY FOR TEMPTATION : '[He] will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will also make the way of escape.'
. . .

'As you memorize this verse this week, medidate on the words of James: "Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him." (James 1:12).'
(The Joshua Code, pg. 74).

'The Joshua Code  is a challenge to keep God's Word in our mouths through memorization and to keep it in our hearts through meditation "day and night"'.

BRECKENRIDGE

if you follow me on instagram then you probably saw a few of these pictures a few weeks ago.
every year, sp and i take a ski (snowboard) trip to the mountains, and this was the second year in a row we went with two great friends! sp's best friend and his wife- mr and mrs coe.
love em!

when i started going through  pictures from the week i realized there were too many favorites to choose from, so i apologize for the picture overload - but i couldn't help myself - they all make me smile!

we are clearly total cheese-balls at times... selfie-kiss-pic is the new thing, right?!
we try to take a double handstand pic every year we go. this year we decided it would be a good idea to try this at the top of the mountain.. lets just say its super hard at 12,840 elevation to nail a handstand... clearly!
i love that we have this tradition with good friends!
already looking forward to next year- maybe invite a few more friends and make it a fun week of friends, snow, drinks, fun and games!

THE JOSHUA CODE | WEEK 11

We are on week 11 of the JOSHUA CODE - but if you want to catch up on the first few verses you can do so by going back a few weeks in the blog and looking for the same image as above!

"Call to me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty things,
which you do not know."

j e r e m i a h    3 3 :  3

. . .
WHAT IS PRAYER : 'prayer is the talking part of our relationship with the Lord, and it is vital for out own spiritual growth'.
WHY WE PRAY :  'we should pray because the Lord knows better tan we do about what we really need.'
WHEN TO PRAY : 'The Bible encourages us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).'
HOW TO PRAY : begin in prayer with confessionnext pray with thanksgiving
which leads us to a prayer of praisefollowed by prayer of intercessionthen prayer of petition
and finally with prayer of communion ... this is the prayer that goes beyond mere words.'
. . .

'As you memorize God's phone number, meditate on the reality that prayer is a vital part of Scripture memorization and meditation. The Bible and prayer are inseparable. Call to Him... He will answer you... and He will show you- He will let you see - not just some things, but "great and mighty things, which you do not know".'
(The Joshua Code, pg. 69).

I love what Hawkins says in the introduction of this book talking about the 'Joshua Code':
'The Joshua Code  is a challenge to keep God's Word in our mouths through memorization and to keep it in our hearts through meditation "day and night"'.

"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control."

g a l a t i a n s   5 : 2 2 - 2 3

. . .
A COUNTENANCE THAT IS OBVIOUS :  'love, joy, peace'
A COUNTENANCE THAT IS ORDERLY :  'longsuffering, kindness, goodness'
A CHARACTER THAT IS OBEDIENT : 'faithfulness, gentleness, self-control'
. . .

'As you memorize this verse this week, meditate on a few questions:
What about my countenance? -- Do others see love, joy and peace in  me?
What about my conduct? -- Are patience, kindness and goodness characteristic of who I am?
Do I exhibit faithfulness, gentleness and self-control?
The fruit of the spirit is LOVE! Allow Christ to reign and rule in you and through you today. Being comes from doing, for what we do is always determined by who we are. '
(The Joshua Code, pg. 63).

I love what Hawkins says in the introduction of this book talking about the 'Joshua Code':
'The Joshua Code  is a challenge to keep God's Word in our mouths through memorization and to keep it in our hearts through meditation "day and night"'.

THE JOSHUA CODE | WEEK 9

first, can we talk about how amazing the ladies were last week for sharing their faith here on the blog?!
a huge THANK YOU to amanda, brittany and brittani for opening up and sharing from the heart !
these lovely ladies are amazing women of God who fear Him, and run after Him zealously.
if you missed their posts ON FAITH, treat yourself to amanda's, brittany's and brittani's posts now!
we are on week 9 of the JOSHUA CODE - but if you want to catch up on the first few verses you can do so by going back a few weeks in the blog and looking for the same image as above!
take it one verse at a time, or feel free to just pick it up with us this week!

Here is last weeks and this weeks verses:

w e e k -  n i n e
"Do not be drunk with wine,
in which is dissipation;
but be filled with the spirit."

e p h e s i a n s  5 : 1 8

. . .
THERE IS INWARD EVIDENCE :  'singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.' (Ephesians 5:19)
THERE IS UPWARD EVIDENCE :  'giving thanks always for all things to God.' (Ephesians 5:20)
THERE IS OUTWARD EVIDENCE : 'submitting to one another in the fear of God' (Ephesians 5:21)
. . .

'As you memorize this verse this week, meditate on how much God longs to reign as Lord on the throne of your heart, to fill you with HIs own fullness, and to empower you to overcome and live and life of blessings. After all, if it is great to get a blessing, it is even better to be a blessing. Confess your sins afresh and anew to Him. Crown Him the Lord of your life. Remove yourself from the throne of your own heart and welcome Him there. Then claim God's fullness by faith. '
(The Joshua Code, pg. 58).

i love what Hawkins says in the introduction of this book talking about the 'Joshua Code':
'The Joshua Code  is a challenge to keep God's Word in our mouths through memorization and to keep it in our hearts through meditation "day and night"'.
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,  that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success"
